Sometimes, a person and a profession are meant to come together. That’s true for Alex Mabry, whose passion for design and attention to aesthetics goes back to her early childhood. From the beginning, she’s been drawn to all forms of art, from music to interior design and finally, to her professional forte, graphic design. As a Designer at KidGlov, that artistic talent, advertising experience and enthusiasm comes through in client work. Her favorite part of her work life: that feeling when she knows she’s really hit the mark on a project. Her joy comes from watching others become excited about design, too. That joy is contagious!
Alex came to KidGlov with a strong skillset in interactive design, including web design focused on user experience and email design, critical in today’s marketing environment. Her prior role as a Brand Designer for Hudl, a sports software firm, and the key role she played in client web design projects and branding initiatives are an asset at KidGlov. As are her skills in many other areas of design and website coding from her work as a Senior Designer at Jacht, the student-run advertising agency at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where Alex earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising. “I love working with this team of big-hearted, change-making creatives, using design to make a positive impact on the community,” Alex shares.
Outside of work, Alex is all about experiencing the world around her. She loves spending time with friends, especially when that involves good food (Indian is her current obsession) and wine (if it’s dry and red, she’s in!). While she grew up in Nebraska and loves it, the call of the mountains is always tempting and Alex tries to get to Colorado twice a year, to ski and to hike. When home and relaxing, her best bud is Fat Sweetie, her 20-pound, furry, friendly feline.
