It was a typical busy Wednesday afternoon in March when the call came in. The kind of call that makes you pop open a bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge for such an occasion.
A representative from Best Places to Work in Lincoln called to inform us that we were a finalist in this year’s small business category. “You made my day,” answered our Operations Director, Katherine Warren, who took the call.
Six weeks later, we opened another bottle of bubbly. Actually, it was more like three.
Best Places to Work in Lincoln, an award founded by Woods & Aitken LLP, the Lincoln Journal Star and the Lincoln Human Resources Management Association, recognizes businesses who are focused on cultivating a great work environment. We’re not talking just free lunches and well-stocked fridges, though those are nice, but a place that fosters meaningful connections between employees and empowers them to do and reach their very best.
And KidGlov won.
At the celebratory “Best Places to Work” awards luncheon, our passionate, generous, creative and fearless leader, Lyn Wineman, stepped onto the stage and accepted the impressive award that now has a prominent place at KidGlov. It’s a physical representation of how much we all love working here.
