Children’s Home Society of Washington’s end-of-year campaign needed to ignite donors’ compassion with an emotional appeal emphasizing their core beliefs: kin is deeply foundational, children are essential, love is universal, and while there’s no one way to be a family, there is a right way to stand by them.

With donors spread across the state whose addresses are as diverse as their ages, socioeconomics, and more, KidGlov accepted the challenge to create an inspirational campaign that would resonate with a wonderfully wide audience. Adding complexity, with a confidential merger on the horizon, we needed to creatively lean into a new identity without tipping their hand.

Getting Personal

To personally connect with a diverse group of donors across the state, we created a postcard with six versions customized to regional Washington communities. It followed a high-impact mailer with so much wow-factor we mailed it in a clear envelope — so donors couldn’t resist looking inside! Direct email appeals added more personal touches, as did a how-to guide for board members to send personal asks to their own networks.
